Are ALL Credit Repair Services Scams?

When the FTC announced their crack down on 36 credit repair organizations who were allegedly violating the Credit Repair Organizations Act, the media ate it up.

Every news channel went to town proclaiming credit repair is a scam.  They ran story after story about some poor person who got swindled out of their hard earned money.

I felt for those poor people, but I was also shocked and frustrated about how biased our journalists are.  First of all, they're not supposed to take positions.  "News" are facts.  A journalist's job is to report the facts, not take a position.  They should be our eyes and ears.  Nothing more. We have our own minds.

Remember, there are two sides to every story. 

What about all the people, like my own clients, who have benefited tremendously from improved credit scores?  What about the money they've saved?  What about the homes I've saved by helping my clients qualify for financing?  What about the families I helped purchase their first home or buy a new car so they could get a better job?  Don't we get any air time?

On MSN Money, I watched an expert from Credit.com condemn the credit repair industry.  It was a laughable one sided bashing of my industry.  Some journalism. 

When it was over I wrote him a letter asking how anyone could take such a biased position?  He couldn't possibly believe that ALL credit repair services are scams, right?

He offered me the opportunity to defend myself and my industry.

While, at this point I am still skeptical of whether this process will work for me, I did sign up this week for your program. I have been reading your emails for weeks and I have to say that the little comments you make are very entertaining (EX:"My note: Who talks like this?")I have to admit that the openness with which the info on this site is written is truly engaging.
