Read this email I got the other day.
Brian,
It appears to me that you are Living High on The Hog !!!
(My Note: who talks like that?)
Your Fees are the highest I have ever seen..
Trust Me .. I will Not Ever use you or send anyone your way..
You Are Raping people..
I hope you can sleep at night!!
Of Course you can because you DO NOT Have a Conscious!!
If you Did you would not be able to charge what you do..
- Mark
Thanks for opening my eyes, Mark. Your email tells me that you and many others may not understand me or my business at all (though you could've been more tactful.).
I say that because I'm currently one of the cheapest credit repair services available. I'll prove it in a second, but first let me say that I have no issue with anyone charging above average for their goods or services, provided they are providing above average value in return.
To put it another way, for every Nordstroms there's a Walmart. No one walks into Nordstrom's and says, "How dare you charge $250 for blue jeans! How can you sleep at night?" Of course not. If you have any common sense you know you can go to Walmart.
Why people pay more to shop at Nordstroms is a long explanation, beyond the scope of this post, but my point is no one is holding gun to your head and making you shop there.
That said, let's look at my fees and how they stack up to the competition.
I have to start by saying that I normally charge $2997 (Don't have a coronary, Mark). I reduced my fees last summer due to the economic crisis and we've been steadily increasing them since. I even noted that fact in my letter at www.GuaranteedCreditBoost.com.
Why people always think that's just a sales pitch is beyond me.
Anywho, when I first started Score More Credit I surveyed the other companies in the industry. The current leader is L... Law. Most other credit repair services model themselves after them.
L...law charges a $99 set up fee, then $39-$79 a month. That doesn't seem like a lot of money, right? Wait and see...
Next I looked at my probable customers, like you. I thought to myself, why would you be interested in credit repair? I made a list:
- To buy a home,
- a car,
- get a better job,
- save money,
- embarrassed about credit history,
- etc.
Then it hit me. My clients would want their credit fixed fast, so if I'm to compete I had to be faster than the rest. But how can a business that charges a small monthly fee make money if they fix credit fast? I would need my clients to stick around so I could turn a profit.
The answer is they can't. Their business' goals are the exact opposite of yours!
I knew what needed to be done. I designed my business so I could guarantee results in 6 months or less or it's free. I even put it in writing, so it's iron clad.
Try asking L...law to put that in writing. It won't happen.
Now I'll show you what their service is really costing you.
If you sign up with them, you'll be paying them for years while they slowly fix your credit. Do you realize they don't tell you what the TOTAL fee will be? Isn't that insane?
That's like me selling you a car and telling you, "Here's how much the payments are. I'll let you know when you've paid me enough.". That's crazy! You'd never accept those terms anywhere else. Think about it. They can't tell you because they'd have to be finished fixing your credit around then or soon after. Remember, they want to keep billing you for as long as they can...as in YEARS.
Don't believe me? Listen to the *testimonials I have from former L...law clients or ask any of your friends who have used them. They'll tell you they were paying them for 2 or more years with minimal results.
Hmmmm... $99 set up fee, then $79 a month. That's $1047 the first year, then $948 every year there after. Let's say just two years for $1995. Fair?
Let's use my full price of $2997 in comparison.
As you can see from my testimonials, my clients get results fast. Usually in 90 days or less. That means they start saving money immediately.
For example, if you came to me with a 620 score because you were trying to refinance your $300K mortgage and I got you just a 50 point jump in 45 days, you'd save $186.00 a month on a 30 year loan (rates and payments provided by myfico.com as of 2/19/09).
That means you'd save $2,232.00 in interest payments this year alone. Over 30 years you'd save $66,960.00!
With one of those law firms you'd be waiting until 2011 to refinance. Another way to say it would be they cost you $2,232.00 in extra interest payments.
So let's recap. Their service cost you $1,995.00 for two years, plus $2,232.00 in extra interest payments for a total of $4,227.00.
My full price is $2,997.00. I'm cheaper by $1,230.00!
But I'm NOT charging $2,997.00 right now. I'm only charging $1299, so you're really saving $2,928.00! Can you see how my service literally pays for itself?
What are your thoughts?
*Legal disclaimer: My client's
opinions are their own. Score More Credit and it's employees don't
necessarily share their opinions.

Brian,
That explanation makes allot of sense to me. I have known several people over the years that used that Law place, including me, with very little to NO results. They just wanted to keep charging month after month and do nothing.
Your fee for the results you promise is very reasonable in this slow economy. Thanks for explaining it to us.
To your health,

Brian, great article. People really need to see the true value of credit repair, not just as an upfront cost, but the fact that it more than pays for itself when done right.
Your fee is more than priced fairly for the amount of work that is put into it.
Keep up the good work!

If that guy is so concerned about people getting raped, he should think about what the credit bureaus, banks, and credit card companies are doing to us. For months now I've been telling people I feel like I'm being raped again and again -- I have no control over my financial situation. Every time I do something to get to where they say I should be, they change the rules. THEY are controlling nearly every aspect of my family's lives. THAT is rape!

Hey Brian
I have to let you know I used L... Law and I did see results within 2-3 months. My score went up by 60 points. I do understand your assessment by comparison and I agree that the not knowing was the worst part of doing business with them, I would go with a competitor any day, if given a legal guarantee that they can do better.
My score has dropped again due to loss of employment. When I get up enough money I will check you out.

Brian,
You are absolutely right! Great way of explaining the "True Cost" I just had a client that has spent 5 plus years with that same company!
Add up those costs :-)

Mark,
Your comments are completely unfounded. Maybe you should do some research before you reach for your keyboard and type like an idiot. Score More Credit actually WORKS unlike some other companies out there, and the level of service is SUPERIOR. I would gladly have paid TRIPLE what I did for the results I have seen.

Why aren't you listed with the Better Business Bureau, so that one can investigate the company by other means than your website?
************************************
The BBB is a private organization that charges $600 for the "privilege" of using their logo on my website.
Regardless whether or not I pay them, they'll still document any complaints against me. You can check and see that I have none. How can anyone complain? You don't pay until you SEE results.

Brian,
Thank you for posting the negative feed back that you receive as well as the positive. It shows you have nothing to hide and that you respond to all email you receive. I have used the firm listed above as well several years ago and still came to you with a credit score below 600!! I signed on with your organization on 2/18/09 as of today half on my negative items have already been removed and I am back on track to a great credit score. You can't put a price tag on peace of mind!!
Thank you

Wow those were some strong words. We have yet to sign up...but I will tell you...in my research of looking for help with building our credit and just getting the reports accurate, I have NEVER found any company to be as informative as Brian, up to speed on all the credit stuff as Brian and hand out SO MUCH information for the consumer (before even paying a dime) as Brian.
As far as pricing, I used a large law firm before for 6 months, who "nickel and dimed" me to death, and I had no results...not one. But based on what I am reading about Brian, I could see results in less than half that time.
I am still in the "think until it hurts to make the right decision" process but it really looks as if Brian is the answer to our credit woes.

PS. Brian, thanks for the tips on the web site for obtaining credit, too. I spoke to John at the company and he has been terrific and full of info for me.

Can I update my last posting from April? Brian, my score went from the low 500's to now my high score is 657! This was BEFORE I paid to sign up with your class. I was so excited, I shared the info with my friend who was excited to see my results. She too is signing up. I just wanted to thank you so much Brian. Because of you, your knowledge and all your help you are changing my family's life AND I have never even spoken to you in person. I just listen to your CD and watch your videos and read your literature.
PS...you are a fraction of the cost of what I was paying that high end attorney before.
Brian, you ROCK!
